Who We Are
Precision Welding Academy LLC (“PWA”) was founded by welders, professional educators, and business professionals to meet the needs of employers seeking top-quality, precision welders. So what is different about us?
PWA is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education, and approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission.
PWA is an Educational Institution Member of the American Welding Society.
We are not a large, corporate institution where our students get lost in the crowd. As one of our students, you will have a unique opportunity to learn from the best. Your success is our success.
We strive for a 15:1 student to teacher ratio. This means you will receive more individual attention.
Day school is 8 hours a day, 5 days a week—just like a full-time job. This allows you to develop welding skills faster than at most other schools. We also offer more flexible options with part-time afternoon & night shifts.
Our instructors are skilled at teaching to your needs so no time is wasted.
Upon successful completion of advanced welding programs, you may be eligible to take an AWS certification test to become a certified welder.
PWA is dedicated to providing quality welders for the continued job growth across the United States. The U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics reports welding jobs are expected to grow to 427,300 by 2026.

Welding Saved My Life
MY NAME IS Scott Raabe, President, precision welding academy
Yes, that was my truck. As a young man, I nearly died after an accident that was my fault. I was making bad decisions, and I had a reckless lifestyle. I had no idea how to earn a living. My life was a mess—until I discovered welding. Welding gave me a purpose and direction and a career that I love.
I graduated from Langham Creek High School and attended Texas State Technical College in Waco to get my Certificate in Welding Technology. After completing the program, I worked as a welder for 12 years at several specialties including fabrication, structural, pipe, and vessel, mastering my techniques before becoming a welding instructor at Tulsa Welding School and a certified welding instructor at Arclabs Welding School. In addition, I started my own business several years ago called Clean Cut Metal Works.
Ask me about some of my work. I would love to share it with you.
After all these years I finally came to the realization I loved teaching more than anything. That is why I started this school. I take pride in showing students everything from the most basic tasks to the to the most intricate projects. Quality and precision does not come from cutting corners. It starts from learning the basics and developing skills over time.
